ABOUT US
We are a volunteer-led group who meet up to help Bedfordians fix their stuff. Our Repair Cafes usually happen 6 times a year. We are currently at Project 229 in Kempston, UK.

Our volunteers want to give some kindness back to the community by offering their skills for free. However, we are passionate about the intersectional and political issues around repair, and understanding how this affects everyone in society.

We care about:
-
Education, and empowering you to conduct simple repairs with the help of our volunteers
-
Right to repair, and legislation to give consumers the ability to conduct durable, accessible and easy repairs
-
The environmental and social effects of manufacturing, e-waste and plastic waste.

Bedford Repair Cafe began in 2016 with the help of Bedpop- this is why you might know us as our old name- Bedpop Repair Shop!

We are completely driven by the work of our volunteers. This means we function mainly with the help of donations at events, and some small pots of funding.
